The timeless art of Collage and Decoupage has a long and fascinating history and a variety of styles that can be traced back to many countries. Over the centuries it boasted numerous famous practitioners including Marie Antoinette, Madame de Pompadour, Lord Byron, Beau Brummel and more recently Matisse, Joseph Cornell and Picasso.
Decoupage is the art of adorning surfaces with collage to form a complete design that often also tells a story. Jill starts her work with a high quality glass receptacle to which she painstakingly glues her intricate collages and paper designs. The design is completed with a background paper or gold leaf that fills in the areas not covered by images.
